Quad has been presenting and continuously improving specialized Operator Roller training since 1985. Courses have been developed to explain what happens in the mill, from an Operator’s perspective. The science of rolling is explained in real life terms that can be understood and applied by Operators to help them safely achieve and maintain section.
The profitability of any rolling mill and the vitality of our industry are dependent on developing and maintaining a skilled work force. QRC1 Pass Design & Rolling Theory
This classroom-based course is custom designed to suit your mill layout and product range. Basic terms, pass design principles for a range of product shapes, roll cooling, speed control and guiding are all discussed as applied to your mill operation.
QRC2 Hands-on Rolling of Rounds & Flats
Emphasis is on actual rolling of rounds and flats. Participants gain hands-on experience in all aspects of placing a product on the mill: pass design, setup sheets, mill setup, rolling, bar measurement & defect analysis.
QRC3 Hands-on Rolling of Angles
Emphasis is on actual rolling of angles. Participants gain hands-on experience in all aspects of placing a product on the mill: pass design, setup sheets, mill setup, rolling, bar measurement & defect analysis. Both butterfly & open methods are covered
QRC8 Hands-on Rolling of Slit Rebar
Emphasis is on actual rolling of slit rebar. Participants gain hands-on experience in all aspects of placing a product on the mill: pass design, setup sheets, mill setup, rolling, bar measurement & defect analysis. Both double and triple strand rebar are applied, using a range of rolling methods.
QRC10 Hands-on Rolling of Wire Rod
Emphasis is on actual rolling of rounds and rod. Participants gain hands-on experience in all aspects of placing a product on the mill: pass design, setup sheets, mill setup, rolling, bar measurement & defect analysis. Roughing, intermediate, finishing & rod block passes are designed & rolled.
On Site Training
Quad has a mobile Mill used for training that is in a fully contained shipping container that is shipped to customer’s site. It is a fully integrated training lab, used for hands on training.
